Originally from California, Mike is 65+ years old and has been married to Lori for 20 years. They have five children.
His first job was the U. S. Navy. Mike was in Naval Aviation. His Dad started him flying at age 10. By sixteen, he received his Pilot’s License. Mike continued flying at the US Naval Academy and retired as a 30-year Navy Captain. His aviation career began as a Naval Flight Officer (NFO) Training in Pensacola. He then became a F-14 RIO (Radar Intercept Officer (Backseater) and later transitioned to being an Aviation Maintenance Officer (AMO), including ample Aircraft Carrier overseas deployments.
Mike received a BS in Economics from the University of Florida. He received his MBA from Webster University. He works with Accelerated Knowledge Transfer (AKT) application development.
Accelerated Knowledge Transfer (AKT) applications rapidly capture and share critical, sensitive, and highly complex / infrequently performed mechanical and procedural processes. Through digital storytelling, these tools enable the “best of the best” subject matter experts (SMEs) to share their best practices and techniques in ways that everyone can understand and repeat. Processes are demonstrated in attention-grabbing ways utilizing a focused mix of pictures, videos, animation, and text. Their approach involves all four learning preferences of reading, hearing, seeing, and doing.
AKT Optimize applications are also enhanced with Mixed Reality (MR blending of Augmented and Virtual Reality (AR/VR) to ensure instant accessibility and drive user interest. Handheld devices and/or goggles instantly recognize subjects and access CAD (Computer Aided Design) models, with links to audiovisual explanations and instructions that also include associated text and reference info. When and where available, artificial intelligence (AI) will guide AKT applications and information collection.
He said that the “development of our AKT applications brings wide-ranging travel opportunities and enables frequent visits with friends around the globe.” Mike has a unique blend of Military, Automotive and Aviation expertise, which enables him to easily optimize performance across a broad spectrum.
During his free time, Mike is a sports car enthusiast (driving and restoration). He is a boat owner. He and Lori enjoy their Four Winns 260, Yamaha Wave Runners, Kayaks, and other watercraft from their boathouse on Lake Lanier. Plus, he still enjoys flying. How does he balance work/home life? By combining working, traveling and pleasure together.
His favorite place in the World is Mallorca. He stated that it has the “most amazing combination of rugged mountains, pristine beaches, tranquil farms, the perfect Mediterranean climate and spectacular driving” all on the same island.
Mike has owned a1999 ML430, 2002 ML55, a 2005 SL500, a 2000 SLK320 (Manual), a 2007 GL450, a 2008 GL550, a 2005 E55 Wagon, and a 2005 CLK55. Presently, he owns a 1986 500SL AMG, a 2006 SLK55, a 2015 GL63 and a 2001 SLK320 (Manual). If he could own any model/year Mercedes, it would be a 2009 SLR McLaren. And he reiterated that fact that he loves fun and spirited mountain driving.
His favorite food is Cajun. His favorite author is Tom Clancy. (Great books!) For his listening pleasure, Mike enjoys the Eagles. 60 Minutes is his favorite TV show. They are a Dachshund family. “We love both our Dachshunds and also enjoy fun time with both of our son’s Dachshunds.”
Mike has no plans for retirement because he continues “finding new ways for helping others.” However, on his bucket list is a “spirited drive across the Northern Mediterranean coastal routes.”
Mike wants to be known for “continuously improving life for others and imparting fun/joy along the way.”
