Karen was born in Pennsylvania, moved to New Jersey, and landed in Atlanta in 1983. She is divorced and not looking. Karen has two sons in the Atlanta area, a daughter in Nicaragua, and three grandchildren (1 Atlanta/2 Nicaragua). Her grandchildren are what makes her laugh the most.
She has a BA in Biochemistry/Nutrition from UNC-Chapel Hill and an MS from NCSU in Food Science. Karen was a nationally ranked swimmer and received a full ride to college.
Karen worked in food manufacturing directly out of college. Her first job was as a Chemist at Kraft Foods in Decatur. When she left, Karen was the Lab Supervisor. After her children were born, she switched careers and worked as a pre-school teacher for 25 years (obviously she has a lot of patience).
In her spare time, Karen enjoys working on her 25-year-old R129. “There are a lot of old plastic items to replace” and “I’ve done much bigger jobs on it than that.” She stated that she is enjoying her MBCA Peachtree membership where she has “met may really nice people.”
Additionally, she likes to work out in an “attempt to stay youngish.” Karen has a black belt in American Karate which is important to note. Being on her neighborhood Social Committee, Karen attends their social events also.
Her favorite place in the world is her family’s (real) log cabin (1905) at Twin Lakes in Shohola, Pennsylvania. It holds “fond childhood memories of peace and relaxation.”
Karen previously owned a red 1995 SL320. She presently owns a 2002 SL500 Silver Arrow (purchased in 2010) and a 2018 GLA250 (purchased in 2019). When asked if she could own any Mercedes, what would it be? Her response was that she is happy with the Silver Arrow because “it feels just right.” Karen stated that it is comfortable, has enough power and a “view of the sky. What could be better than that?”
Karens favorite food is a “steak cooked to perfection at home on the grill.” Unfortunately, her neighborhood association does not allow gas or charcoal grills, so she mastered a grill pan.
She has joined a book club because she likes to read but does not like selecting books. By joining a club, Karen gets to read a variety of novels. She likes all types of music. Her favorite TV shows are Murder Mystery/Detective type shows. She recently got BritBox and is now in “heaven!” Karen loves animals but presently does not have a pet.
Karen likes to travel and plans to do more in the future. No place is “absolute” because “there are so many places to see.” Another future wish is to drive on a track. She wants to “just keep having fun. So far so good!”
Karen would like to be remembered for being a good friend, mother, and grandmother.
