Visit the beautiful McDaniel-Tichenor House in Monroe, which is part of the National Register of Historic Places in Georgia. The house was built for Governor Henry D. McDaniel in 1887, and part of its charm is that, unlike many house museums, the McDaniel-Tichenor House remained occupied by the same family until 1990.
